Lorella Federico

Ciao, I'm Lorella, and I can't wait to help you improve your Italian language!

During a three-month trip to the United States in 2003, friends said, “You are so good with languages; I wish I could speak Italian!” They then asked me to teach them. Something in their eyes and voices sparked my love for helping those passionate about learning Italian. A bell rang in my head, and the adventure began!

I have teaching experience with students from kindergarten through high school. I’ve also taught evening courses to immigrants from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and I’ve worked with tourists of all ages.

The main goal of language instruction is communication. I want to help you be understood. Mistakes are not a problem—we learn by making them, even if we as adults sometimes forget that. The important thing is to make mistakes, learn from them, and have fun!

Do You Want to Learn More?

Lorella is an experienced Italian language teacher and the founder of Italian Lessons in Tuscany.

She has a plan for anyone dreaming of Tuscany and chatting with locals in Italian.

Since 2004, she’s been teaching Italian in person and online, with over 13,000 lessons taught. She helps students move beyond “pizza, spaghetti, and mafia” to have real conversations with real Italians.

As a language learner herself, having studied English, German, and French, taught herself Spanish, and even tried Arabic—she knows both the challenges and the joys of learning a new language.

That’s her with some of her students. No, they don’t eat and drink all the time… but sometimes, it’s part of the lesson!
